During the press conference to publish IBA information, regarding the fact that they claimed that Imane Khelif and Lin Yu Ting were men, the organization also granted many new information. They said that both of them were not eligible to play female boxing at the international level, and were kept by IBA.
IMane Khelif and Lin Yu Ting were sampled from 2022. This test model gave the male results, but both of them had not received a penalty because IBA thought that the test once could have errors. They still recorded a medal and bonus (Lin Yu Ting had US $ 100,000, Khelif was $ 50,000).
The two were only officially concluded as male in 2023, when their next independent test sample made the same result. Both were disqualified from the 2023 World Championship. However, IBA kept their medals and bonuses in 2022, instead of claiming.
IMane Khelif and Lin Yu Ting are notified of the test results, and signed to confirm the receipt of information. Lin Yu Ting did not appeal. Imane Khelif then appealed, with the majority of appeal funds to the International Sports Arbitration supported by IBA, radio.
IBA wants everything to end in silence, to ensure the private life of 2 boxers. They only published information at the time when iMane Khelif and Lin Yu Ting continued to attend the Paris Olympic Games. These two boxers and IOC said that IBA was false, lacking in the basis, or they did not receive any notice.
IBA later published a picture of documents and emails showing that the iMane Khelif and Lin Yu Ting signed a confirmation of the male sex test results. IOC also sent an IBA feedback email, saying they received an email of IBA reporting on the results of these two martial artists.
It must be added that IBA has now been deprived of the right to organize the Olympic boxing box, but their reputation in the world community is still very large. The evidence is that among 198 member countries of IBA, there are currently only 38 countries declaring separatist and supporting World Boxing, the new Federation created by IOC.
The remaining 160 countries, including Vietnam, still runs amateur boxing (Olympic level) as a member of IBA. Recently, the referee training class, the latest high -achievement boxing coach of Vietnam is also classified by one of the most prestigious lecturers of IBA.
At the continental level, the European Boxing Federation (EUBC) has announced that they continue to support IBA in the near future, despite the separatist members. The Asian Boxing Federation (ASBC) also said that they will continue to vote to consult with member states about staying or leaving IBA in the near future. At the previous voting meeting, 90% of ASBC members chose to stay in IBA.
