This morning (September 20), BTC Lion Championship announced the list of 17 boxers to be promoted to A. This was the last upgrade of the tournament in 2023. Of the 17 names to rank, Jesse James Bernal is notable. He served in the US Marines before coming to Vietnam to protect the US Embassy.
Jesse James Bernal is practicing at Vietnam Top Team Club. The American boxer won against Do Thanh Chuong at LC08 event. Besides Jesse, another foreign boxer was upgraded as Harry John Smith. Harry was promoted after 2 victories at the event LC06 and LC08. Foreign boxers bring new colors to Lion Championship.
Currently, one of the most notable foreign boxers is Robson Oliveira. He is having the opportunity to compete for the 60kg championship after Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat returns the belt to BTC.

The Lion Championship 2023 season has gone almost all the way when only 2 more events will end. At 2 events LC10, the remaining LC11 will have A -list matches played. Lion Championship 10 is scheduled to take place on October 7 at Ngoc Phu Quoc Island. The 52kg champion Nguyen Thi Thanh Truc has a match to protect her belt after a long time of waiting. Her opponent in the next match is Ho Thi Ngoc Bich.
