Yesterday (October 2), the Vietnam General Martial Arts Federation (VMMAF) announced the checking of doping fighters at Lion Championship. Accordingly, since the LC10 event took place on October 7 in Phu Quoc, the organizers will take a sample of banned substances for athletes attending.
The sampling process is implemented according to international standards for inspection and investigation of the World Doping Prevention Code. This is to ensure fairness, improve sports spirit, help the tournament take place more complete and more successful.
For cases of positive substances with banned substances, VMMAF offers a relatively heavy discipline such as a fine of up to VND 100 million for each athlete, deprivation of the title, cancel the match results and the ranking results. Even the heaviest form of discipline for violating athletes is to ban competition in Lion Championship. The club or the managing unit of the violating boxer will also be fined 5 million.
Lion Championship is the first Vietnam's professional martial arts tournament first conducted a quality inspection of athletes. In the context of recent times, the martial arts world has rumored that there was a foreigner using banned substances when attending Lion Championship.
Currently, the Lion Championship 2023 season has only two events LC10 and LC11. This is one of the steps to professionalize the tournament in Vietnam. As well as promoting the MMA country to reach the continent and the world.
