In 2023, Cat Tung did not participate in any match. According to the provisions of the tournament, the “fighter wearing a mortar” was officially eliminated from the 70kg Lion Championship chart of 70kg male. Currently, the rankings of the tournament are no longer named Nguyen Cat Tung.
That also means that, in case of returning to the Lion Championship in 2024, Cat Tung will have to return to compete from Group B. However, this boxer can change the weight class to play, instead of holding 70kg as before. The boxers who were defeated by Cat Tung were Nguyen Ba Nhi and Dang Thang Nguyen.
According to the notice from the Lion Championship Organizing Committee, the 2023 season has officially closed with the boxers of Group B. Two year -end events, including Lion Championship 10 and Lion Championship 11, there will be only matches in Group A. But with the return announcement of Cat Tung, he is expected to soon attract attention to fans in the coming time.
