Dat Nguyen is the bantamweight champion of Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship – BKFC. He is a martial artist with a long history of international achievements and the first Vietnamese origin to achieve those achievements.
In his matches, the 39 -year -old Dat Nguyen puncher often wears a Vietnamese conical hat so that the audience around the world knows that he represents the overseas Vietnamese community to the floor and promote the image of Vietnam and Vietnamese people coming to international friends.
Luis Palomino is a 155 pound weight champion, but Dat Nguyen plays in 135 pound weight so he has to gain weight to compete with his opponent. Dat Nguyen said that this was not surprising because in his career, he often had to fight with heavier opponents.
Dat Nguyen also said that some boxers including Luis Palomino often have bad words and attitudes about the Asian community, including Vietnamese.
“Luis Palomino said that Vietnamese people only know how to do nails or restaurant professionals. It took me six months and I and BKFC to convince him. This is a big match, shining everywhere and echoing the world. This victory will be a glorious thing for Vietnamese people. I hope my victories help the Asian communities more confident during this time.” Dat Nguyen shared.
That is why Dat Nguyen decided to spread the weight to play with Luis Palomino.
To prepare for the next match, Dat Nguyen said he practiced jogging, practicing muscle strength and practicing punches every day. This match is different from the previous matches to gain weight, no need to keep weight in the weight class he played so he could eat more comfortably.
“I am very confident and think I will 90% of this match, but I cannot be gap and must be well prepared,” Dat Nguyen said.
Like the previous matches, the champion Dat Nguyen said he would wear a conical hat when he stepped into the ring because it was a symbol of Vietnamese people. However, he said he did not wear flags like other Vietnamese boxers because he did not want to bring politics to the stage.
