Jose Aldo confirmed back to UFC after nearly 2 years of MMA competition

Nearly 2 years have passed since the decision to quit MMA, Aldo officially confirmed that he would return to the competition. This boxer will face Jonathan Martinez at the UFC 301 event. Aldo himself also said that he could stick with MMA for a while if the match results came. This boxer also explained the decision to withdraw from UFC before, when he had just lost to Merab.

“At that time, I thought I needed a rest for myself, both physically and mentally. I have practiced, competed continuously for 20 years, and encroaching into Boxing is a way to help me heal myself. I no longer feel pressure and many other burdens,” Aldo said.

Aldo also added that he left all the opportunities to come to him after the upcoming match. The former UFC champion was rumored to be able to fight a boxing match with Floyd Mayweather. However, this match finally did not take place, and Aldo only fought with a few other unclean fighters.

Aldo said: “People may not believe it, but the match between me and Floyd Mayweather reached the basic agreement. I don't know what happened later between the negotiating parties, but the game did not appear. But after all, I have many other opportunities.”
