In the semi -final of 66kg weight for women at the Boxing Championship of the Youth, Asian Championship 2022, boxer Tran Thanh Tuyen encountered the opponent of the Kazakhstan named Aruzhan Zhangabayeva. Thanh Tuyen played very hard, but the difference in strength and qualifications between the two sides made Vietnamese boxers losing to the technical knockout right in the second half.
According to the results announced by the organizers, at the first half of the match, 4/5 referees graded the boxer Kazakhstan to win the Thanh Tuyen point with the gap 10-8. Only one Turkish referee judged Thanh Tuyen not too inferior to the opponent when losing only 10-9. This failure makes Thanh Tuyen unable to have a higher achievement than a bronze medal.

“The performance of young Vietnamese boxers at the Boxing Championship of the Youth and Asian Championship 2022 will be the premise and foundation to help them improve in the future,” Mr. Hai added. “At the same time, through this tournament, we also know the common level of the level of qualifications between Vietnamese boxers and rivals in the region to prepare for the next tournaments.”
The Vietnamese delegation set out to Jordan to attend the Boxing Championship of Asian and Asian Boxing on February 26. It is expected that on March 16, the delegation will return home after the tournament ends. In the past, the Vietnamese women's boxing has won certain successes in the continental and international youth tournaments.
