On August 21, the Vietnam Boxing Federation (VBF) held a meeting of the Executive Committee for the first term in Hanoi. Here, the executive committee members summarized the first term, as well as gave the list of candidates to the title of VBF Chairman for the 2nd term. This list did not have the name Mr. Tran Minh Tien.
Earlier, in the period of 2015-2022, Mr. Tran Minh Tien was Chairman of VBF for the first term. In the 7 years of the first term, VBF had a good new arbitration class. These are the people who are directly trained and certified by the International Boxing Federation (AIBA). Currently Vietnam has a total of 14 worldwide referees.
In addition to training international arbitrators for Vietnam, VBF also keeps the promise when helping Boxing Vietnam have 2 athletes attending the Tokyo Olympic Games. However, for some reasons, Mr. Tran Minh Tien said he would not run for the position of Chairman of VBF for the second term, but yielded to others.
“Previously I wanted to rest because I felt very tired as the president of the Vietnam Boxing Federation,” Mr. Tran Minh Tien said at the press conference before the Boxing Championship of the Nation's strong teams 2022. “But after I said I wanted to rest, everyone offered to continue to stay and work. That helped me have more motivation.”
Ahead of the 2nd term of the Vietnam Boxing Federation, Mr. Tran Minh Tien said he would plan to work 1-2 years, so that the system was stable and thought about resting. Mr. Tien hoped to be able to find someone who had enough enthusiasm to replace him, but it seemed that he had rested before the plan for some reasons.
At the 1st term of VBF in 2015, Mr. Tran Minh Tien was elected to the position of Chairman of the Federation. The Secretary General is Mr. Vu Duc Thinh, Head of Boxing – Kickboxing (General Department of Sports and Sports). There are also 5 vice presidents, Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung (Director of the National Sports Training Center 1), Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung (General Secretary of the Military Martial Army Federation), Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh (Deputy Director General of the General Department of Sports and Physical Education) …
