Ottman Azaitar was eliminated from UFC for violating the safety law of Covid-19

Azaitar was scheduled to play with Matt Frevola at UFC 257 on January 23. However, in the official weight test before the tournament on January 22, he was disqualified. UFC later announced that Azaitar was eliminated by him violating safety and health regulations.

UFC President Dana White confirmed to the media that they had cut the contract with Azaitar. According to White, Azaitar tried to help others enter the UFC safety area and ignore Covid-19 isolation measures.

“He and his group cut their ribbons and give them to the outsiders. I don't know how they do it. He stuck the ribbon on his arms, came here with a backpack, went into a room, looked around the balcony, went down the backpack room, changed clothes and left. When security tried to stop him, he ignored them and left.

Because Azaitar was eliminated, Frevola faced Arman Tsarukyan in the 71 kg weight match. Tsarukyan also accidentally encountered his original opponent, Nasrat Haqparast, because Haqparast was sick.

Azaitar has 13 professional matches and has not lost any matches. He started playing for UFC at UFC 242, beating Teemu Packalen in the first half. He later added a TKO victory within 93 seconds ago Khama Worthy, at the UFC Fight Night event last September.
